Comments by Bob Nault concerning Charles Fox has sparked a war of words.
Yesterday, Nault said that the native leader is not a credible candidate in the Kenora Riding and is recommending that the Liberal Association go out and find someone else if they want to win the riding.
Lac Seul First Nation Chief David Gordon calls that disparaging and believes Nault is bitter because Fox spearheaded an effort to get the First Nations Governance Act scrapped.
Gordon claims Fox comes with an impressive resume that includes a term as Chief of the Nishnawbe-Aski-Nation and the current Chief of Ontario.
Meantime, Charles Fox appears to be not to worried about the latest events and says he will not change his approach.
Fox says he wishes Nault well, adding if given the opportunity to work with him in the future, he would welcome the opportunity.
Fox is also downplaying talk that the nomination process has become polarized.
He says the problems are the same, whether you’re a major municipality or a remote First Nation.
Fox adds his nomination papers have been approved.
