There were four new forest fires reported in the west fire region yesterday, with two in the Thunder Bay district, one in Red Lake, and the other in Nipigon district.
Meanwhile, two new forest fires were reported in the Fort Frances district Monday.
Both fires are point one hectare in size.
At last report, fire number 19, which was caused by lightning, was put out.
That fire was located about seven miles south of the Crilly Dam.
The 18th fire was located at the Black Sturgeon Landfill just a short distance north on highway 502.
It is now considered under control, but the cause has yet to be determined.
