Susan Margaret Nielsen
1957 – 2015
In loving memory of Susan Margaret Nielsen, who passed away on September 29, 2015 in the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Susan is survived by her spouse Robert Ryan, his daughter Tara (Neil), daughter Kelly (Brad) and their son Hunter, and Susan’s children; Elizabeth (Mike) Hammond and their children Camryn and Ada, her son Christian Nielsen, sister Debra (Doug) Clark, mother Joan Black (Robert Stanberry), sister-in-law Linda Jensen, nieces Kirstine Jensen, Andrea Black, nephews Ric Jensen, Robert Black, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Stuart Black, her brother Gregory Black, and first husband Alan Nielsen.
When Bobby and Susan met, his family welcomed her with open arms and made her a part of their family, especially his brother and sister-in-law, as well as many friends.
Susan enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all camping and spending time at the family cottage on Lake of the Woods. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren.
She was a long time local broadcaster, a community volunteer, a Past-President of the Dryden Rotary Club and former Board Member of the local Credit Union.
There will be no Visitation as cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church with Father Dick Kennedy officiating. Interment of ashes will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dryden Regional Health Centre’s Oncology Dept. through the Dryden Community Funeral Home 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3.
