Three Weekend Losses For Kenora Thistles
A rough start to the new year for the Kenora Under 18 ‘AAA’ Thistles Hockey team.
The Thistles were humbled in three road games over the weekend.
Kenora fell to 10-0 to the Yellowhead Chiefs on Friday and Saturday, before dropping a 16-2 decision to the Central Plains Capitals yesterday. (Sunday)
Dryden’s Ben Hackl scored, while Nathan Ho added an assist in the game.

Dryden Paperkings Pick Up Silver In Manitoba
A Silver medal for the Dryden Dingwall Ford Under 13 Hockey team.
The Paperkings finished second at a weekend tournament in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.
Dryden lost a nail bitter, 5-4 against the host Terriers in the championship game.

Three Losses For Kenora Thistles
Three losses for the Kenora ‘AAA’ Under 18 Hockey team on the weekend.
The Thistles fell 4-0 to the Parkland Rangers on Friday, before losing 9-1 to the Interlake Lightning on Saturday and 6-3 on Sunday.
Dryden was well represented in the Sunday game against the Lightning.
Ben Hackl had 2-goals and 1-assist, while Evan Armit recorded a goal and 2-assists.
Jeff McMenemy also had a helper.

Another Tough Loss For Kenora Thistles
Dryden’s Colin Lapointe scored one of the two goals last night (Wednesday) as the Kenora ‘AAA’ Under 17 Thistles dropped a 7-2 decision to the Winnipeg Thrashers.
Kenora has now lost 6 of its last 7 games.
They sit second last in the league with 2-wins, 23-losses and an overtime loss.

Red Lake Picks Up Important Home Win
Third period goals from Morgan Venne and Ryan Howe propelled the Red Lake Miners to a 5-3 win over visiting Fort Frances last night.
Red Lake’s Sean Gula also found the back of the net as did Noah Kwasny and Shaye Sommerfeld.
The Miners outshot the Lakers 37-25, with Zach Willms picking up the victory.
Red Lake is now five points back of first place Thunder Bay in the SIJHL standings.
