More newspaper downsizing in northwestern Ontario

The Kenora Miner and News will no longer be a daily.

Postmedia has announced that as of January 17th, the Miner and News will be amalgamated with the Enterprise as a weekly.

The newspaper will be offered free of charge.

The company says it will contact subscribers and offer a refund.

The Miner and News started running three times a week earlier.

Last year, the Dryden Observer and the Northern Sun News in Red Lake ceased operations.
