A short-lived promotion for Joan Kantola.

Kantola will be the interim Director of Education for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board until January 20th.

That’s when Sherri-Lynne Pharand will officially take over as the new Director of Education.

Kantola replaces Dryden’s Caryl Hron, who officially resigned her position on Friday during a special meeting.

Hron says she will stay on as a Superintendent of Education.
