Taking Care Of Our Backyard

While there are many positives that come with our yearly meltdown from Winter into Spring, the big reveal isn’t always positive itself. Why? Garbage. Waste. Poop.

These are all things I’ve ‘found’ underneath the snow, and I don’t know why this even has to be a topic up for discussion, but didn’t we all learn the same lessons in preschool? I very clearly remember the phrase my teacher always used: “Respect the environment. Respect each other, and respect yourself.

Littering is a growing problem across Sunset Country, and a recent post made by the Municipality of Sioux Lookout is bittersweet at best.

Many thanks to the anonymous group for sharing the same distaste I have for littering and taking action! But this shouldn’t have happened in the first place..

It might be time to start bringing a garbage bag with you on your adventures, and that really, really sucks.

Let’s do better.
