Tax Rate Approved, Dryden 2009 Budget in Place

Taxes won’t be as high as originally believed.
Dryden Council has voted in favour of the 2009 Municipal Budget, with taxes going up 3.5%.
A Provincial change in the education tax rate dropped the increase from 5.25%, as previously reported to Council.
Finance Chair Mike Wood says its a fair budget.
Wood says it keeps services levels the same.
Council approved the budget in principle 4-1 last night.
Brian Collins was the only one against the document, while Mel Fisher was not in attendance.
