Taxes won’t be as high as originally believed.
Dryden Council has voted in favour of the 2009 Municipal Budget, with taxes going up 3.5%.
A Provincial change in the education tax rate dropped the increase from 5.25%, as previously reported to Council.
Finance Chair Mike Wood says its a fair budget.
Wood says it keeps services levels the same.
Council approved the budget in principle 4-1 last night.
Brian Collins was the only one against the document, while Mel Fisher was not in attendance.
