The Northwest Local Health Integration Network is
welcoming over 550 thousand dollars for the Thunder Bay
Regional Hospital.
The funding will be used to place additional community
care access centre staff in the hospital.
Chair John Whitfield says by relocating patients to
community care centres, they’ll be able to offer more
spaces to the region.

The money will also go towards funding geriatric nurses
to assist seniors in the emergency department.
