Team Rubicon Now Active In Wabaseemoong

Six members of Team Rubicon Canada are now in the Wabaseemoong First Nation providing help to that community in the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19 cases.

Eric Goodwin is the team leader and says they were called out by the Provincial Emergency Operations Center.

“Our responsibility at this present time is to provide respite to those community members who have been distributing provisions to people in quarantine,” explains Goodwin.

“The volunteers here are exhausted. Again, the outbreak of COVID here is not under control. I can’t say enough about their (volunteers) perseverance and efforts. It’s just outstanding.”

Goodwin says his team is staying isolated at the school in White Dog.

He adds another nine members of Team Rubicon Canada are expected in White Dog by Friday.
