Starting today and continuing on August 26th, Drydenites will have a temporary recycling service.
The City of Dryden is still seeking a permanent solution to its recycling woes since the demise of the Northwest Recycle Association on June 30th.
City Engineer Brad Johns says aluminum cans, cardboard, newsprint, paper, milk cartons and plastics, numbered 1 and 2 only, will be picked up at the curb.
Johns notes the city will be using the recycling truck it purchased from NORA to handle the temporary pickup.
Meantime, many other communities in the region, mandated to recycle, have already found permanent solutions including Sioux Lookout and Atikokan.
