Mixed results for local students in the annual Grade 3 and 6 standardized reading, writing and math tests.
At the Grade 6 level, there has been a steady improvement in all areas, but at the Grade 3 level, there was a decrease in marks across the Board.
Superintendant of Education, Jack McMaster says they are taking a close look at the results and trying to find out why Grade 3 marks dropped.
McMaster says the Board will then make the necessary curriculum changes.
He adds that this is the first time in 3 years that test scores for reading and writing in Grade 3 have not improved.
The Province-wide tests were written last Spring.
