The Fate of Another Resolute Mill In Jeopardy

The future of yet another Resolute Forest Products mill in northern Ontario is in doubt.
Last week, Resolute announced it’s shutting down the mill in Iroquois Falls.
The mill will close it’s door on December 22nd, putting 180 people out of work.
Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro says we are not the only province affected.
He says Resolute is also shutting down two paper machines in Quebec.
Mauro says the market for newsprint in North American and around the world has shrunk considerably and there isn’t demand for the product any more.
The NDP are asking the government to keep the mill heated this winter after Resolute announced it would be turning off the heat on February 1st.
