The Future Of The Forestry Sector

Good news for the forestry industry in Northwestern Ontario.
The Forest Products Association of Canada is asking the federal government to continue to replenish investments with the forest industry transformation program.
Executive Vice President Catherine Cobden says they have three main goals.
The first one is hiring more people, an estimated 60,000 by 2020.
The second one is to grow their market share and adopt new innovations to serve new markets and products, which will be an additional 20 billion dollars of economic activity.
The third goal is to improve their environmental performance by 35 percent.
Cobden says that this move will allow mills to make more products then just pulp, such as ingredients for windshield washer fluid and cleaning supplies.
