Therese Richard
January 13, 1922 – March 10, 2008
God called our Loving Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and sister home. Therese was born in Aubigny, MB and at the age of 7 she moved with her parents and family to LaBroquie, MB. She resided there until she met and married the “Love of Her Life” George who predeceased her in 2004.
Therese had a “joie De vivre” and loved her role as wife and mother to her 7 children. She believed in her faith and always had a kind word to say towards everyone. Always had her hands in something – loved entertaining family and friends as well as enjoying baking and sharing it with others, sewing, gardening & knitting.
Therese loved to sing her French songs and occasionally play the harmonica & spoons. She also enjoyed and rarely missed many outings with the Happy-Go-Lucky Seniors.
In 1999 they moved from Red Lake Road to Vermilion Bay Seniors Complex which they called “home” until God came to call them home. She was known as a lovebug by some of the residents there.
Therese will be greatly missed by her children Florence (Eugene), Louis (Jean), August (Linda), Georgette (Mark), Eddy (Diane), Claudette (Bill), Claude (Katherine) along with 16 grand-children and 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by 8 sisters & 2 brothers.
Therese was predeceased by 1 sister and 5 brothers.
A celebration of her life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Vermilion Bay on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 with Father Luigi Filippini officiating. Cremation has taken place and at her request a private internment of ashes will take place at a later date.
The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gagnon and staff at the Machin Medical Clinic, Vermilion Bay for all the excellent care they gave to our parents over the years.
