The Telus Western Regional Championships begin Thursday in Thunder Bay, with the Kenora ‘AAA’ Midget Thistles in tough.
The Thistles, with representation from Dryden and Ear Falls, face the top team in Saskatchewan, the Notre Dame Hounds at 3 o’clock central.
The other two teams in the four team tournament are the host Kings and the Manitoba League champs, the Winnipeg Wild.
The winner of the Western Regional will qualify for the Telus National Midget Championships taking place this year in Sudbury.
