The English River Miners and Dryden GM Ice Dogs received some help Sunday.
The upstart Thief River Falls Norskies upset the Thunder Bay North Stars 6-1 at the Fort William Gardens.
The Norskies scored three times in the first period and three more times in the third for the victory.
The Miners remain three back of the first place North Stars, while the Ice Dogs are four behind.
Dryden and English River both have three games in hand.
Thief River Falls has started its first season with three wins in eight games, without playing a single one at home.
