Thunder Bay Hospital Nears Full Capacity

The surge in coronavirus cases is the most the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital has seen since the pandemic began.

Officials say the hospital is at 92% capacity because of the sharp increase in infections.

Hospital officials say they expanded the COVID-19 unit from 13 to 21 beds to deal with the current surge, and right now they are treating 19 patients.

That includes five people receiving intensive care.

They make no mention of cancelling any hospital services or procedures.
