Thunder Bay Introduces Hotel Tax

Prepare to shell out more money if you have to stay overnight when travelling to Thunder Bay.

City Council approved a 4% hotel tax Monday night.

The tax is expected to bring in $2-million annually.

The money will be split between the City and the Community Economic Development Corporation.

Thunder Bay hotels will start charging the tax on September 1st.
