A group of Liberal ministers are in New York this week to take in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
They’ll be joined by not-for-profit and women’s organizations from across the country.
Minister of Status of Women and Thunder Bay MP Patty Hajdu will head the Canadian delegation and she says the conference will tackle issues related to her mandate.
Hajdu says the economic security of women, leadership and gender based violence will all be discussed.
She adds there’s interest from abroad in Canada’s inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women.
Hajdu notes they will be discussing health and social conditions for aboriginal women.
The session runs until the 24th.
