Thunder Bay Rink Headed to Brier

For the first time in years a northwestern Ontario rink is representing Northern Ontario at the Brier.
The Jeff Currie foursome out of Thunder Bay is competing in Kamloops, B.C. and says it’s been a long road to get to this point.
“We played 6 spiels this year, we’ve been on the ice practicing a lot, we played in the Men’s Major League and we have curled, practiced and sacrificed a lot of time and effort towards this.”
Currie says it’s a dream come true.
“It’s amazing we all have been striving for this since we were kids.”
The foursome know they have some big shoes to fill.
“We grew up watching guys like Hackner, watching them have success, we’ve been thinking about this since juniors and we know this is where we want to be,” Currie says.
Currie opens the Men’s National curling championship on Saturday with matches against New Brunswick and B.C.
