Thunder Bay’s Krista Scharf used what could be called home ice advantage to win the Scott Tournament of Hearts Ontario playdowns in Fort Frances Saturday night. Scharf who finished first in round robin play went all the way defeating the McGhee rink from Uxbridge for the third straight time 7-6 in 10 ends. Scharf used last shot to mark 2 in the 10th end. Scharf is the first rink from Thunder Bay to go to the Tournament of Hearts since 1992.
