Thunderstorm Watches and Warning Issued – 3:45 PM July 25

Most of the area is under a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH while Sioux Lookout is now under a Severe Thunderstorm WARNING.

The latest forecasts (available 24/7 at CKDR.NET) were issued at about 3:45 this afternoon.

For most of the day, a series of small but intense storm cells has tracked across most of the Northwest from Kenora through Dryden and Red Lake south to Fort Frances.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

A few thunderstorms may become severe late this afternoon into the evening over the regions.

Large hail is the main threat. Damaging winds are also possible.
