Time To Grab Your Mini-Max

A fun and interesting component of Moosefest has been launched.

Joy Auren is one of the organizers of the Summer Festival in Dryden and she has announced the creation of the Mini-Max campaign to coincide with Moosefest.

Auren has made available 55 wooden cutouts of Max the Moose that she wants community groups and businesses to paint.

You are being invited to paint them and showcase them around town.

The cutouts will be placed around Dryden’s favourite mascot on his 55th Birthday next month.

Auren says she plans to utilize the painted cut-out’s during a social media campaign.

You can learn more, by listening to Northwest Monitor Sunday morning on CKDR following the 9:00 News.

CKDR News recevied a statement and some background from Joy Auren on the fun initiative:

“I first got the idea to create these little miniMAXes about three years ago and decided to finally launch him during Moose Fest as a marketing strategy for my graphic art’s and marketing business called An Excellent Idea.

The wooden cutouts have been routered by Dave Darling’s DHS carpentry class and I paid them in-kind by registering a number of miniMAXes to be painted by KPDSB schools at no cost.
By inviting various businesses, organizations, schools and individuals to paint them, it will give diversity and personality to the little guys plus it will identify our participants.

For those that paint their own, he should be primed then painted with a water based exterior paint and finished with a water based clear coat to seal them.
Both the front and back need to be painted, preferably the same, but on the back, we need a spot that will allow a 4″ x 4″ spot for a laminated logo and identification of who the painter was and the hosting business or club.

At Max the Moose’s 55th birthday party on July 19 – at the tourist bureau, opposite Dingwall Ford, all authenticated miniMAXes will be on display and 10 will be available for auction. With their authenticating identification number, the auctioned miniMAXes will start their adventures – from attending a birthday party, a work seminar, a luxurious vacation etc. Folks are invited to post those adventures on Dryden’s Max the Moose Fest Facebook page and I am hoping that it will draw some attention to our little community and drive some community spirit.

The remainder will become part of Moose on the Loose – similar to the flamingos and folks will be able to ‘Moose’ another business, their friends for a birthday, retirement or just for fun. If people want to buy Moose Insurance – it’s available too. That can also be posted on Dryden’s Max the Moose Fest Facebook page.

Every group, organization and business that has registered for the opportunity to paint a miniMAX is excited at the fun, new marketing strategy and we are all looking forward to seeing the results. All questions about miniMAX can be sent to: anexcellentidea@gmail.com

As of Wednesday morning, there were only a few left, so if you want to paint one, or have one painted for you – you’ll have to call Joy asap. 807.220.5822″
