That’s a tip from Constable Laurie Harkof of the Ontario Provincial Police as area cottage owners start closing down for the winter.
Harkof says valuables should be kept out of site but notes they should be stored at your permanent residence.
Harkof notes it’s paramount to secure all of your buildings and lock and secure all doors and windows.
Another tip is to track all serial numbers in the event anything is stolen.
