June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and the local Elder Abuse Prevention Committee is sponsoring presentations throughout the District.
District Representative Lee Stones stopped in Dryden to offer tips to area Senior’s.
Stones focused on the high rate of financial, physical and psychological abuse.
Stones says Seniors should not fall to pressure from other individuals, especially their own family members.
She stresses it’s important to raise awareness to this important cause, noting 90% of abuse cases never get reported.
