Tough Conditions for Local Fire Crews Out West

Its hot, sticky, smokey and the terrain is extreme; but that’s not stopping Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Fire personnel from continuing suppression efforts in B.C.
Spokesperson David Cleavely is in B.C. and says the mercury is hitting into the high 30’s on a continued basis, forcing crews to do most of their work in the morning.
Forest Fires out west range from 10,000-20,000 hectares in size.
The MNR has provided nearly 500-hundred firerangers and support personnel for the past two weeks.
