Despite the closure of 7 Mills in the past year, Abitibi-Consolidated
continues to bleed red ink.
The company is posting a loss of $48-million in its third
quarter results.
President John Weaver says Abitibi is proceeding with plans to set up
an income trust for its hydro-electric facilities in Ontario.
The hydro assets include 2-power dams in Kenora and the electrical
generating facility in Fort Frances.
