The Ministry of Natural Resources is expecting a busy off-season after
a near record breaking fire season.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says local staff will be spending the
next few months going through all of the paperwork and drafting a strategy
for next year.
She says crews will also be monitoring the forest vegetation across the
Region as storm-damaged timber and dry conditions will likely pose problems
early next season.
