Two lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway south of Wawa have reopened after they were washed out last week.
Wawa Mayor Linda Nowicki says the sections of highway that were washed out on the north side of town should be reopened by Wednesday and they are not necessarily out of the woods just yet.
She says they are looking to evacuate the remainder of the residents in nearby First Nations, especially with possible effects from Hurricane Sandy on the way.
Wawa is preparing to apply for disaster relief funds from the province.
