Traffic Changes Introduced In Dryden

The City of Dryden has taken a step to make some streets a little safer.

Council has approved several changes that will soon impact motorists.

Parking will not be allowed during certain periods of the school year near Open Roads School.

Signs will be erected indicating No Parking Monday to Friday, September 1st to June 30th between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm on the south side of Wood Street between Birch Avenue and Wood Close.

The City says the main reason for the change is that it was becoming increasingly difficult for fire trucks to fit between vehicles on both sides of the street.

A handful of new stop signs are also being set-up throughout town.

Three of the signs will go up in the Edgewater Terrace Subdivision.

The first will be at the intersection of Gamble Drive and Edgewater Drive (westbound on Gamble Drive), the second at the intersection of Wabigoon Court and McMillan Drive (eastbound on Wabigoon Court) and the third at the intersection of Edgewater Drive and McMillan Avenue (eastbound on Edgewater Drive).

Another stop sign is being set up at the intersection of Heather Drive and Highway 601-Colonization Avenue North. (westbound on Heather Drive)

The move comes following recent comments from drivers.
