Tragedy Strikes Couple Who Just Left Northwestern Ontario

The Canadian Milk Tour, which just rolled through Northwestern Ontario, has come to a tragic end.

Henk and Bettina Schuurman were going across the country on a John Deer tractor to raise awareness about the Canadian dairy industry.

However, police in Saskatchewan say Bettina was killed when their tractor was hit by a transport near Regina Monday morning.

Henk was in critical condition but has since been stabilized.

The semi-truck driver was not injured in the crash.

The journey started in Elmira, Ontario where the 55-year old couple is from.

The two left northwestern Ontario on July 3rd.
