Transparency Act Surives Vote In Toronto

MPP’s at Queen’s Park have approved the Public Sector and MPP Accountability and Transparency Act.
Treasury Board president Deb Matthews calls it a signature piece of legislation that sets a high standard for oversight across the public sector.
Some of the new rules include an expanded role for Ontario’s Ombudsman, tighter control of public sector executives and changes to rules governing MPP’s.
