Provincial Police are asking motorists to slow down and take their time when travelling Wednesday.
The first significant snowfall has hit the area and OPP have already seen a dramatic increase in collisions.
Highway 17, just east of Ignace was briefly closed this morning due to a jackknifed transport blocking the road.
OPP say traffic is now able to get by.
Traffic control remains in place.
