Tri Force Drug Unit had good year

2002 was a banner year for the Tri Force Drug Unit in Northwestern Ontario.
Officers conducted 690 investigations, charging 669 individuals compared to 545 cases & 609 people charged in 2001.
The value of narcotics seized more than doubled to $13.4 million & 310 weapons were seized where only 108 were taken the 12 months previous.
As for quantities of drugs taken off the streets, the totals were up in every catagory with cocaine & marijuhana more than doubled.
