Ministry of Natural Resources Officials in Red Lake are
trying to trick the trout into spawning anywhere but
Pinestone Bay.
MNR spokesperson Nadine Thebeau say over 15-thousand 2-
year old lake trout have been stocked in Red Lake as part
of a 10-year rehabilitation plan.

Thebeau says they still don’t know why eggs spawned in
Pinestone Bay die.
She estimates there are only about 3-thousand lake trout
left, and most are between hte ages of 14 to 40 years old.
