U.S. President Barack Obama is singing Canada’s praises.
Obama welcomed Justin Trudeau and his wife to the White House this morning, speaking highly of the Prime Minister and our country.
At an outdoor news conference, the two leaders maintained Canada and the United States remain united in a common purpose.
Trudeau said the two countries grew up together, and bring out the best in one another.
They joked Canada and the United States have an enduring friendship- even if they disagree over beer and hockey.
This is the first official state visit for a Canadian prime minister in nearly 20 years.
Trudeau and Obama already released a joint statement on climate change, and a further announcement about border security is expected later today.
