Trustees Select Site For New Sioux Lookout School

After several months of study and consultations, the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has selected a site for a new high school in Sioux Lookout.
The Sioux Mountain site was unanimously approved by trustees Tuesday night.
Sean Monteith is the Director of Education and says the decision allows them to move the project forward.
Monteith feels with the municipal and school board elections coming up, it was important to come up with a decision sooner rather than later.
Trustees also approved a $23.5-million construction loan for the project.
That represents the provincial government’s portion of the new building.
