TTC Moving Towards Lawsuit

The Toronto Transit Commission is putting the heat on over continued streetcar delays at Bombardier in Thunder Bay.

The TTC Board of Directors has voted unanimously to begin legal action against the company.

The company has been unable to meet deadlines in shipping completed cars from the regional plant to Toronto.

Bombardier was to have delivered 67-vehicles, but there are only 10-currently in service.

The contract reportedly includes a $50-million late delivery penalty and Bombardier has continued to revise the deadline dates.

The TTC also wants Bombardier’s CEO to attend its November board meeting to explain why they haven’t been able to meet deadlines in their contract.
