The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it has cleared up most of the tuition arrears it has with its first nation partners.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says there is only one band that hasn’t paid its tuition in full this year, but they are currently working with them to make sure the debt is paid.
He adds that no students have been kept out of school this year because of unpaid tuition dues.
Last year, a number of students from the Washagamis Bay First Nation were kept out of school for almost a month because of over due tuition fees.
