Catching five undersized walleye has cost a pair of anglers.
Gary Leduc of Kenora has been fined $1,000 for possessing fish of a prohibited size and Brett Thurston of Winnipeg has been fined $250 for fishing without a licence.
The two men were caught on the Winnipeg River back in August during routine patrol by conservation officers.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says regulations are in place on the river to allow the depleted walleye fishery an opportunity to recover from intense fishing pressure.
