Two of the most important government branches to northern Ontario are getting budget increases.
The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines gets a nearly $50-million increase to over $813-million in 2018-19.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry sees its budget increase by about $20-million to over $800-million.
A fund for emergency forest fire fighting decreases.
A little less than $70-million has been earmarked, down from the $117-million spent last season.
