Some more fire activity in Northwestern Ontario, but this time it’s on purpose.
The Ministry of Natural Resources plans to ignite two more prescribed burns on Thursday and Friday in the Sioux Lookout District.
They will be in the Wind and Socket Lake areas.
Officials say as a safety precaution, road closures may occur from October 3 to October 5 depending on the fire and smoke conditions from the Wind Road at Vermilion River Road and from Socket Lake (106 Km) on the Vermilion River Road until Spyder Road (135Km).
CKDR told you last week that MNR staff had also ignited a burn in the Horse Lake area, and crews continue to monitor it.
