The union representing some workers at Patricia Gardens and Princess Court in Dryden, as well as several other nursing homes in the north is sounding the alarm over under-funding and a lack of staff at those health care facilities.
Unifor is calling for immediate action from the provincial government.
Spokesperson Kari Jefford says there have been cuts to the budget for years and it’s now at a breaking point.
Jefford stresses there is nothing left to cut, restructure or move around and stresses patient care is suffering as a result.
She says staff don’t have the time and resources to provide adequate care.
