The EACOM sawmill in Ear Falls is now up to full production.
Unifor says a second shift was added Monday, bringing the total workforce to 110 unionized members at the mill and another 150 in the woodlands operations.
Local National representative Stephen Boon says there’s also good news to report at the Kenora Forest Products sawmill.
Boon notes final preparations are underway for the long awaited start-up.
He says a trial run is expected to begin shortly and once the bugs are ironed out, the first shift could be on-line by the first week of February.
Full production could be in place in the Spring.
Boon notes the Kenora mill will employee almost 110 Unifor members.
