Unifor has reached a new tentative deal with CP Rail.
The contract was reached minutes before a Sunday morning strike deadline.
The Union says they were able to negotiate a new agreement that addresses the concerns raised by members.
It covers about 1,800 unionized members who conduct safety inspections on all rail cars and locomotives, as well as maintenance and repairs.
Ratification meetings are being scheduled across the country over the next three weeks.
