If you are a Union Gas customer, better get ready to dig deeper.
Consumers can expect to see their bills go up by an average of $58 for the year.
Company Spokesperson Roz Elliot says higher costs for transportation and the gas itself have forced the hike.
Elliot says the increase could have been higher if not for a reduction on the delivery portion of the bill and a special July credit.
Union Gas does not make a profit on transportation and commodity charges.
