OPP say a 31-year-old man is back in custody after leading provincial police on a pursuit yesterday afternoon.
Constable Diana Cole says the handcuffed man fled while being transported to the Kenora courthouse at around 2 p.m., Friday, crossing the ice on the Kenora Bay as he made his way from island to island.
Cole says search and rescuse, the emergency response team, and canine unit were activated, and the escapee was eventually arrested on Coney Island.
Police chased him for about an hour. There were no injuries in the incident.
