Don’t expect to see any construction on the new high school in Sioux Lookout until next summer.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has budgeted $5.2-million dollars for the project this year.
But Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says most of that money will be used for things like architectural fees, engineering and planning.
Carrie says some of it may also be used for the tender stage if they find out it will cost more to build the school.
He notes they had set aside $4.2 as a contingency fund in case they needed to create additional space in the school for outside partners.
Carrie says the total budget for the new school is about $30-million.
