A group of economic development agencies from across the region are working together to create a larger entity called “Social Enterprise Northern Ontario.”
The organization will help fund businesses that want to create jobs.
It’s a two year pilot project that will see entrepreneurs secure funding from community and private sources.
People taking part in this project will partake in an application development program that will continue into September.
Program Manager Melissa Cook says they are targeting businesses who employee youth, individuals with disabilities, under-privileged youth and women.
